MEET THE SURGEONS
When Dr. Johnson began his training he knew that he was called to head and neck surgery. During residency for head and neck cancer, he found himself more interested in the reconstruction and restoration process of his patients. It was his interest in reconstruction and recreation of form and function that brought him to the field of facial plastics. As his experience grew, so did his love for cosmetics and aesthetics. After graduating from The University of Georgia with a BS in Microbiology and a Doctor of Pharmacy, Dr. Johnson pursued his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia. At the Medical College, he helped teach head and neck anatomy to first-year medical students and was an early inductee into the AOA medical honors society. After graduating, he continued to study head and neck anatomy and surgery as an otolaryngology resident at the Augusta University Hospital. During his residency, he had the opportunity to work alongside facial plastic surgeons allowing him to focus on the treatment of the aging face, rhinoplasty, and facial reconstruction. After residency, Dr. Johnson was selected for the renowned, and highly competitive Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship with Dr. Tom Wang, an AAFRPS-certified fellowship. During his time in fellowship, he was able to further hone his skills in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Additionally, he learned new techniques in the treatment of facial paralysis and cleft lip and cleft palate. Upon completing fellowship, he and his wife and two children returned to the CSRA and the community that he had served for the previous nine years during medical school and residency. Now, as a member of the Aesthetics at Augusta ENT team, Dr. Johnson looks forward to serving his clients with a full range of cosmetic procedures of the face and neck.
