Browlift

The heaviness of the eyebrows can make the eyes appear smaller and less open. A descended brow can also make you appear tired and less approachable. Lifting the brow can be performed in several different ways and helps to open the eyes giving you a refreshed and more approachable appearance. Brow lifting is often done along with upper eyelid surgery for an optimal result.

Blepharoplasty

Do you feel like the excess skin around your eyes make you appear tired and older? Blepharoplasty corrects droopy eyelids and removes saggy crepey skin that can lead to impaired vision. When performed on the lower eyelid, blepharoplasty also removes puffiness and bags under the eyes which adds to a worn and tired appearance. This procedure cannot alter dark circles, fine lines, and wrinkles around the eyes. Though blepharoplasty is often performed as a single procedure, your surgeon may also discuss a brow lift, facelift, or skin resurfacing to optimize your results.

Buccal Fat Removal

Roundness of the face and the cheek may be due to excessive fat in the deep cheek tissues. This fat, known as buccal fat, can be safely removed through a small incision in the mouth. The result of the procedure can be improved fullness of the cheeks, creating a slimmer, more contoured appearance.

Rhytidectomy

Aging of the face is inevitable. Genetics, personal habits, the pull of gravity, smoking, and sun exposure contribute to the aging of the face. Over time the skin begins to loosen on the face and neck. Crow’s feet appear at the corners of the eyes. Fine forehead lines become creases and then, gradually, deeper folds. The jawline softens into jowls, and beneath the chin, another chin or extra tissue appears at the front of the neck. As tissues descend the appearance of aging increases. A rhytidectomy or lower face and neck lift is a procedure that helps to reposition descending tissues creating a sharper jaw line and a smoother more contoured neck. During consultation with your surgeon, your specific concerns will be addressed, and a personalized plan developed to create a rejuvenated, natural appearance.

Neck Lift

The neck can be one of the first areas to demonstrate signs of aging, especially in female patients. The skin of the neck can become loose and redundant creating the appearance of wrinkles and excess tissue sometimes referred to as a “turkey neck”. To improve the appearance of the neck a neck lift can be performed to help tighten and reposition loose tissues creating a more youthful and contoured neck.

Neck Liposuction

Neck liposuction is a relatively quick and very effective procedure to address pockets of fat that appear below the chin in the neck area. Neck liposuction is used to get rid of the fat, which exists between the skin on the outside and the neck muscle on the inside.

Scar Revision

When the skin is injured from a cut or tear, the body heals by forming scar tissue. The appearance of the scar can range from nearly invisible to very obvious and disfiguring. While scars cannot be removed, they can be altered and made thinner, hidden in skin creases, and discoloration improved. A consultation with your facial plastic surgeon will help determine which features of your scar make it conspicuous and create a personalized plan to make your scar less noticeable.

Facial Implant Surgery

Facial Implant Surgery can usually be done without creating a visible scar. In some cases of chin implantation, an external incision under the chin is necessary but hides well. Your facial plastic surgeon may elect to perform the surgery under local or general anesthesia based on your preference and what the surgeon feels is appropriate. Augmentation of many regions of the face is possible, including the malar region, the chin, and along the jawline. For placement of an implant along the tear trough or cheek, an incision can be made inside the eyelid to prevent a visible scar. Alternatively, an incision can also be made through the skin of the lower eyelid within a pre-existing wrinkle line. Oftentimes, your surgeon may be able to combine your implant surgery with a lower-lid blepharoplasty to further rejuvenate the lower-eyelid region.

Skin Cancer Reconstruction

There are many different methods of treating skin cancers. Treatment of skin cancer normally involves physically removing the lesion, oftentimes with surgery that can be performed by your facial plastic surgeon or dermatologist. With some cancers, curettage and electrodesiccation can be an option for treatment. This involves removing the tumor from the skin with a sharp curette and then using an electric current to destroy the remaining cancer cells in the wound. Another option for the treatment of skin cancer is Mohs surgery, which is performed by a dermatologist with special training. This procedure involves stepwise removal of the skin followed by immediate examination under the microscope until all of the cancer is removed. Other treatment options include immunotherapy, target therapy, chemical peel, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or photodynamic therapy. In advanced cases, it may be required to use multiple methods to treat cancer.
